The Salford Retirement Village social group recently asked Vin’s to take their 40 members on a day tour of Goolway and the Coorong. Some of the members were infirm, requiring help with walkers and boarding the coach.

Pick-up time was at 10am and a complimentary, packed morning tea was enjoyed at McLaren Vale en-route.

The Vin’s team partnered with the great people from Spirit of the Coorong Cruises, to provide a 4 hour cruise to the Murray Mouth and to the last navigatable Coorong stopover, The Snake Pit (the old well is frequented by a variety of reptiles including tigersnakes, but none were seen on the day).

A large family of fur seals have colonised the barrage, enabling a close-up view of them sleeping on the timber rails as the cruise boat exited the lock that separates the sea water from the fresh water of the Murray.

A fabulous lunch was provided on board along with tea/coffee and the crew took pride in what they were doing, intimately knowing the history of Goolwa and the Coorong.

The group arrived back home at exactly 5pm as planned.

Salford organisor, Ross, said that their social club enjoyed the day immensely, the coach was airconditioned and very comfortable, the driver helped with the oldies and infirm, the Vins admin team had planned the day outstandingly, and the cost was less than $100 per person including the boat cruise and lunch. “We will definitely be using Vin’s again” he said…..” a fabulous day and truly great value”

Alice, an exercise physioligist, and her uni/netball friends group decided to have a day in the Barossa for the Gourmet weekend. After searching the web and gaining some quotes, she decided the best people to deal with was Vin’s Buses & coaches, the staff being polite and on the ball. For the 24 passenger minibus, the price too, was more than competitive.

They wanted a leisurely day, not a full-on tour, so elected to have a tasting at Seppeltsfield and Chateau Tanunda, then go on to Whistlers where there was a band and a great selection of gourmet food, including lamb burgers, spatchcock. The range of sweets included a local German treat …beinstick. Most dishes cost $10 or less, so was great value too.

Seppeltsfield was delightful …”absolutely lovely” said Alice. “And we had a great time again at Whistlers, having been there last year.”

“Andy, our driver for the day, was just great, obviously very experienced, and helpful. We would certainly recommend Vin’s and Adelaide Minibus…… timely, trustworthy, tremendously terrific transportation!!”

Footnote: The full Vins tour leader/driver team have recently participated in a comprehensive training program to update their skills and knowledge about wine tourism. Included in this was the required protocols for being a tour leader, the history of the Barossa and other wine regions of our state, the key attractions, and  the essentials of viticulture and winemaking. The training was led by Wayne, our marketing consultant, who  has his own vineyard and small winemaking operation in the Barossa Valley.

Trinity college student leaders attended the annual Student Impact Leadership conference at Morphettville race course on March 7th. They engaged themselves in a variety of activities that helped them to learn about leading others, running successful events and building a purposeful culture at school.

young leaders at trinity college travel with vins to conferenceThe Impact team were successful adults who passed on their own experiences when they went to school. Leaving a legacy was one session that helped the students understand that leadership needs to be passed on to the next generation. The example of fund raising was used what another session about public speaking proved invaluable too.

The day also allowed teachers to appreciate that their own leadership qualities need to be affirmed and practiced as well.

Trinity is a major client of Vin’s Buses and Coaches, along with its subsidiary, Adelaide Minibus.

The students were delighted to find that their driver for the day was in fact one of the senior managers at Vins. He was able to participate in their discussion on the way back to the school, offering his thoughts about leadership and his life experiences in managing innovation.
